Day 7

9:35 AM It's dark here. I hear the breathing of an animal nearby.



9:41 AM I found the curtain cord. Much lighter now.



9:42 AM I found the source of the breathing. It's my new girlfriend, Sable (wow, I haven't had a girlfriend in years... how did this happen??). Will update with weekend details after lunch.



11:31 AM Had lunch early. Sable woke up very hungry. She eats like a hound.



12:59 PM Let's see... I haven't been online in days. Um let's start with last Wednesday.





I went downtown to hang out with some friends as part of our annual "Welcometaking" celebration (this incorporated reciting poetry to food, then eating off of each others' plates). It was really rather magical, and a lot of people kept dropping in and joining us... I do not even recall I finally left, or where I went after that, or with whom.



Thursday morning (Thanksgiving), I woke up on a friend's couch with six cats all laying about me, all purring likes cicadas. It was ironic since I clearly had need of the hair of the dog.

Damn... someone at the door. Will have to update later.

Day One

4:11PM I was just informed about twenty minutes ago that the rapture occurred this very morning. I was in a meeting with the documentation team at the time and did not happen to notice, although one team member did not return after excusing herself to "powder her nose."

4:28 PM I called my brother, the Gideon, to see what his turkey day plans entail... only got the standard provider message instead of his usual "and may God bless you, richly," message. Weird.

4:49 PM The office is quiet... too quiet. Great, I can get some work done.

6:50 PM The texting in my cellphone does not appear to be functioning. No new messages. Oh, wait, I can get new ringtones... cool.

6:54 PM I am late for a thing... heading downtown now.
